Paula and I were close in junior high and were in the band together in highschool. I am so deeply, deeply saddened for your loss. She was a sensitive and compassionate friend and I know this will leave a huge hole in your life. Love and hugs to Darren and your family.

Praying for God's peace and comfort for you all.
Paula's mom was a resident at The Village at Heritage Point.
During that time, I had the privilege of meeting Paula and her siblings.
Love to you all.

What a beautiful woman and person, Mrs. Burton was. I am very sorry to read of your loss. With her accomplishments, her love and joys, she was an amazing woman. I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love, is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is, Rev. 21:4, which says: “And he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will come back to life. I hope that this verse will also comfort you, and I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - healingwordsforu@gmail.com

Darren, Maria, Carla, Sam, Sheila and Ralph, my heart breaks for all of you. I wish I could be in Morgantown with all of you this weekend, but since I can't, I'm sending lots of love and virtual hugs.
As requested, my FB post from earlier today: My cousin, Paula Jo, was always one of my favorite people. She was smart, loving, fierce, and had such an old, kind spirit that I just loved. Super sad she's no longer with us, but happy to know she's with her mom and dad, and also, her grandmother and aunt, the extended family she grew up with. Although they are most probably very glad to welcome her, I'm sure there's an argument as to why she's there with all of them so soon... many times an argument with this one, sometimes fierce arguments, sometimes philosophical arguments, and a lot of loud talking that may sound like an argument, but that was all part of her charm. Love you, Paula ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rest well.

I know her passing leaves a big hole in your life, but she believed in you SO much that I am certain she will always be at your side guiding you. My heart is breaking for Darren and all of Paula’s family. We loved hanging out with you guys at your pool, which made Paula so happy. Lots of fun parties and music spent together.
I’ll never forget the day you guys came over to watch a big game (probably the Super Bowl) in the middle of winter in Donna Heights. Darren went out to get something out of the car, which had been parked on our steep driveway off of our steep road. The car had slipped on the ice and was precariously positioned in the middle of the road. We got every available bag of salt on the road that day, and we somehow got it to the foot of the hill. We all couldn’t stop laughing!
To my dear friend, Darren, she will be terribly missed. I close my eyes and see that smile. Sending my deepest love and condolences! Sharon
