Obituary of Francis Rutledge Tait
Francis Rutledge Tait, 81, of Morgantown, died unexpectedly April 19, 2019, at home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Francis was born in Brownton, WV on July 23, 1937, son of the late Matthew E. and Rose (Marra) Tait.
As a young man, he loved to play both football and baseball. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. He went on to become the owner and operator of Glory & Majesty Coal Mines. He was a devout Christian and relished in spreading God's word and winning souls to the kingdom. He was a great husband and father and above all was proudest of his family. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Wilkins) Tait; children: Wendy Polentes and husband, Anthony of Morgantown, Erika Plishka and husband, John of Elkins, Kathryn Gioella and husband Mike of Waynesburg, Matthew Tait of Elkins, Kraig Tait and fiancé Rebekah Diller of Tennesee, Jeston Headley of Florida, and Travis Headley and wife, Samantha of Louisiana; grandchildren: Cassandra, Lydia, and Joel Plishka, Sophia Polentes, Meela Gioella, Apollo Headley, and Colton Reno, and several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, Hastings Funeral Home/ Omega Crematory will be providing cremation services and he will be inurned at the West Virginia National Cemetery at a later date.
