Obituary of Wilma Jean Chisler
Wilma Jean Guthrie Chisler, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born on May 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Dale and Virginia Guthrie.
Wilma was a member of graduating class of 1947 from Morgantown High School. She belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church since she was a teenager. She worked for several years in the Civil Engineering Department of West Virginia University.
Survivors are her son, David Chisler, and companion, Sandra Lear; daughter, Deborah Queen and companion, Terry Martin, and daughter-in-law, Jan Chisler; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Robert Poage.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Plummer Chisler; son, Dale Chisler who passed away on June 2, 2019; sister, Lois Guthrie; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Warren Poage; and their daughter, Linda, and son-in-law, Charles Queen.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 4-7 p.m., and continue visitation at Hastings Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
