Obituary of Charles Edward Haney

Charles "Bud" Haney, Sr., 91, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, July 5th at Morgantown Health and Rehab. He was born November 11, 1927, in Morgantown, a son of the late Earl Haney and Nellie (Wolfe) Haney Bohon.

He served for eight years in the United States Navy and was a heavy equipment operator in various construction industries. In his free time, he enjoyed bird watching and working with his hands. He was very close to his sisters-in-law and enjoyed helping them.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Lou (Nuce) Haney; children, Charlene "Char" Allen and her husband Ronald of Morgantown, Charles "Chuck" Haney, Jr. of Ohio, and Brett Haney and his wife Annette of Ohio; and grandchildren, Mitch and Simon Haney. He is also survived by many cousins.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday, July 8th from 4-8 PM and again on Tuesday, July 9th from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM with Rev. Richard Hepler officiating. Interment will follow at Summers Cemetery on Summers School Road. Full military funeral rites will be conducted at the graveside.
