Dan and Julie. Julie and Dan. Seems like they’ve always been one word. I met Dan when I was 17 and just always loved him. He’s always been more than a brother in law to me. He was a brother. He would help me all the time before I got married. He and julie helped me move into my dorm in college. Had me over for dinner. I never hunted but he let me be a deer herder in the woods and I went on my first four wheeler ride, fishing trip, whitewater rafting, and all things outdoors with them. He didn’t mind Julie’s little sisters tagging along everywhere. They were together- my source of adventure and stability and example of a great marriage. Danny would help anyone and he never said a bad word about anyone. He was so kind and patient. And he had this super deep side some never saw. He had such a strong faith and the day we found out about Hunters diagnosis- I stopped by his house. He hugged me and we cried and he said, “ we’ll be alright. We’ll get through this.”
Oh Danny- I loved you. I’m going to miss you so much! Thank you for your example to me and my family and so many. So strong. So faithful. So devoted to your kids and julie. Forever- a hole in our hearts.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. I loved being in Bible study and playing softball with you both! You were a kind and great example of a fun loving and God loving couple for a young college student. I will be praying for the whole family!
Dan and I used to serve on the Welcome Team at our church. He was always kind and polite to my family and me. His kindness, and the kindness of his family, has always been remembered in my heart. I pray that God has gained an amazing angel and I pray for Julie, Hunter and Cole for God to give you all peace and meet your every need. If there is ever anything my girls and I can do for your family please do not hesitate to ask.
I have wonderful memories of Dan but I will always remember him on the ballfield. I can see Julie, anxiously waiting by the fence behind left center and then dan, in quiet, loving, gentleness, coming up beside his best friend. I never heard what they shared but she would smile and he would smile and all would be fine, win or lose. It was a sweet example to the world around them of true love, friendship, and partnership in life. It was a blessing to me to know that if Dan was in the dugout, it would be ok. Dan was full of smiles, simplicity, and the joy of the Lord no matter what life was throwing at him.
