Obituary of Kathleen Lois Koloff

Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kathleen "Kathy" Koloff, 77, of Cassville passed away peacefully on August 28, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Kathy was born in Mather, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mary (Student) Medlick and Michael Medlick.

Throughout her life, Kathy was very active in her community. In 1988, she and her lifelong best friend, Donna "Nanny" Fata, were founding members of the St. Ursula Food Pantry and Outreach Center where she volunteered for over 30 years. She was also an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Baba." She enjoyed watching EWTN and Jeopardy, completing her daily crossword puzzle, and making her special homemade soup and dumplings for her family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Phil; her son Phillip Jr. (Amy) of Louisville, KY; daughter Michele (Erik) Llufrio of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren Lindsay (Landon) Tompkins of Atlanta, GA, Rachel and Ryan Llufrio, and Caroline and Julia Koloff, her sisters Jean (Mark) Juliani and Eleanore Smith, her brother Paul Medlick, as well as many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by brothers Ed and Bob Medlick, and sisters Margaret Medlick and Frances Regan.

The family graciously thanks Amedisys Hospice for their loving and kind care.

Visitation will be at St. Mary Catholic Church, 3334 B University Ave., Star City, WV, on Sunday, September 1st from 4-7pm with a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m. to conclude the evening visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the church on Monday, September 2nd at 11 AM with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be provided following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to St. Ursula's Food Pantry, P.O. Box 18, Pursglove, WV 26546.
