Dear Aunt Chris, Joe and Tori,
I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Jim's passing. I only met Uncle Jim once or twice, probably in the 1980's, but he made a big impression on me, my mom and (I know) on Grandma Josie. We visited Grandma's house shortly after Uncle Jim had run water up to the kitchen and installed a brand new sink. I think he had worked on the bathroom off the kitchen, too. Grandma was beyond thrilled. Uncle Jim's kindness and skill touched us all.
Today, I "heal" vacant homes (repair, landscape, re-claim, re-design, etc.,) so they look -- and function -- like someone cares. I take my time and do nearly all the work myself, with help from Dean and Nicholas for the heavy stuff. I want you to know, it was the memory of Uncle Jim installing Grandma's first kitchen sink that inspired me to try this. Over the years, I have wished Uncle Jim could be near by to advise me on how to solve remodeling problems.
For over 30 years, every story I heard about Uncle Jim was a testament to a wonderful, kind, compassionate man. Our hearts, prayers and our deepest sympathies are with you all.
