Obituary of Betty Deal Sullivan

Betty Deal Sullivan, 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born in Alderson, WV, on May 12, 1932, daughter of the late Henry H. and Evelyn (Hoylman) Deal.

She and her husband, Carl owned and operated Deal & Sullivan Texaco in Morgantown; Sullivan's Gas & Diesel in Summersville; Tyler Mountain Water in 11 counties and U Save Auto Rentals in Morgantown and Summersville.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, of 67 years, Carl F. Sullivan (Frank); children, Mark A. Sullivan and wife, Toy; David S. Sullivan & wife, Debra, Carl F. Sullivan, Jr., and companion, Alissa A. Macchia, all of Morgantown, and Debra L. Johnson and husband, Joshua, of Kingwood; grandchildren, Ryan Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan and Melissa Mason and husband, Tim, and Dustin Ellison, all of Morgantown, Cameron Vance, and wife, Kelly, of Tallahassee, FL, Katie Oliver and husband, John, of Tallahassee, FL, Kristen Richards of Jackson, MS, and Robert Sanders of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Declan Vance, Griffin, and Lila Richards and Camille Oliver; sisters, Beatrice Crist of Greenville, TN, Barbara Miller of Paris, KY, and Bernice Brackens Lewisburg, WV; brother-in-law, Dr. John Sullivan and wife, Nancy, of Jacksonville, FL; and Aunt Nadine O. Phillips of Wilmington, DE. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Charles Crist, Morris Miller, and Arch Brackens and nephew, Brad Miller.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 4-7 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 12, 2019, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Dr. John Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
