Our deepest condolences to Gwen and all of Doug's family. Doug was always a great friend when we were at WVU. I remember when we moved to Morgantown and Doug jumped in to help us with our move in. We also enjoyed working together as well as making some time for golf. He had a great sense of humor and joy of life. We think very fondly of our time in West Virginia and especially of Doug.

Our condolences and love to you Gwen and your family. We have great memories of our WV time with you two. One fun memory was keeping your beagle puppy that Doug was giving you. It was such fun keeping the secret with him and letting Emily as a toddler have a chance to enjoy your pup for a day.
I'll also never forget the fun we had visiting your cabin. I felt a kinship with Doug in his love of the outdoors and the beauty around him there in WV. We're sorry for your loss. Love, Julie Stevenson

My sincere condolences to Gwen and all of Doug's family. I worked with Doug during his years on the faculty of the School of Pharmacy. A kind, caring, true gentleman who always seemed to have a smile on his face! I could depend on Doug to make my day a little brighter and to help the students however he could. After he retired, I would run into Doug from time to time on the Pines golf course (he was a FAR better golfer than me...!)
Doug will be missed and his service to our country will always be appreciated. Rest in peace, Doug..

I first met Doug in 1980 when I was hired as a new clinical pharmacy faculty member at the SOP. He was the “Clarke Ridgway” of his time. He was always a gentleman, kind and caring. He was known by pharmacists throughout the state. He made a difference. And boy did he love his game of golf! He will be missed but we can relish in knowing that he lived a long and fruitful life. Rest In Peace Doug. Charlie Ponte
