Obituary of Ravi Shibley

Please share a memory of Ravi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ravi Shibley, 49, of Morgantown, passed away of natural causes on Monday, May 25, 2020. He was born on July 17, 1970, son of John and Gail Shibley. Ravi was a 1988 graduate of Morgantown High School and attended college at West Virginia University. Ravi attended WVU on an athletic scholarship and played college baseball for his hometown Mountaineers. Ravi received conference honors and still holds single season records during his two seasons as a Mountaineer. Injury, unfortunately, sidelined Ravi's competitive athletic endeavors; yet, his gifts led him to excel in golf and pool. Ravi was a gifted, kind, gentle and patient instructor of golf, pool, and baseball to those younger and eager to learn. He volunteered his time and remarkable skill and tremendous heart at the smallest request. The world is a little bit less gentle without Ravi Shibley. Ravi embodied a loving spirit that touched many who knew him. Ravi loved music, family, friends, golf, pool, nature, listening to the rain and contemplation. The enormity he will be missed can only be matched by how much he is loved. Ravi lived a life of genuine humility. He is survived by his mother, Gail Shibley; father, John Shibley; brother, Joseph Shibley; sister, Jennifer Reed; brother-in-law, Bart Reed; nieces Bridgette Reed and Jaqualine Shibley; and nephew, Coller Shibley. Ravi was a very nurturing uncle. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tiffany Shibley. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Due to Covid19, there will be no services at this time. A memorial tribute video is available online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, P.O. Box 1090, Dellslow, WV 26531 Send online condolences at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
