Doug Mooney was a friend, a good person. Attended classes with him at Marsh Fork High School and watched him with admiration as he played on the basketball court and on the football field. May you go with God, Doug!

Mr. Mooney, lived across the street from my grandmother on Highland Ave. Oak Hill. When he heard from my grandmother I was interested in archery, he took time in the evenings and weekends helping me to sharpen my skills and interests. I was 13 at the time. I have fond memories practicing in his back yard! We talked philosophy as it relates to law also, giving me a keen interest in both subjects and politics of our state. A good man. God Bless you sir. Prayers of peace for your family. Jack Hotelling, Rio Ranch, NM. USN/retired.

Doug was an excellent attorney. He was always generous with his time. He often helped me when, from time to time, I had an issue that went somewhat outside my usual comfort level in litigation. I never stumped him with a question. He had seen or done it all! His modesty, and calm matter of fact demeanor belied the depth of his knowledge and competence. I am not surprised that his favorite ministry at church was "greeter." He was very friendly: an interesting man interested in people. Our bar association and our community have lost a wonderful gentleman. May he rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family and colleagues.

I will miss his friendly hello as I passed his office on the way to mine on High Street in the mornings. I suspect there are lots of other downtown folks who will, too.

Carole and family,
It is with heavy heart to learn of your loss. A huge loss for all that knew Doug. I roomed with Doug at the Sigma Nu house and often repeat to others some of our experiences together. Doug was a good friend and an admirable brother in Sigma Nu. I recall how fervently Doug wanted to begin his military duty to do his part for his country. My deepest sympathy to you all and for the loss of another brother in Sigma Nu. God has a plan for Doug to be at his side.

Doug was a great man . My brother,Tom Stewart , was an attorney an always appreciated their law firm with Robert Shuman being the elder statesman leading the way . He truly liked the civil war an would talked about it almost every closing . There aren’t many attorneys around still who have all his experience. I have been in the real estate business for 41 years an there are becoming fewer and fewer of us that are involve with the Real Estate profession for that length of time . He will be missed . Thanks for being in my life.

I had the pleasure of working with (and learning from) Doug for over 18 years at the Law Offices of Reeder & Shuman. He was always kind and helpful and loved to talk about not only his hunting and fishing trips...but mine as well. The grouse hunting trips we took together are cherished memories. Rest In Peace my friend, R. Scott Summers

Doug Mooney was such a wonderful man! He could always be counted upon to help things run smoothly alongside his wife Carole at First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown.
I loved watching this married couple interact----you could tell they both adored each other.
The Doug I knew was a humble man. As I read his memorialization I never realized how much he accomplished in his lifetime. In short, Doug was one of the greatest guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and my life is better for that.
When my Mom passed away from cancer two years ago, I began to relate to Doug's wife Carole as a "Mom" of sorts as we worked together doing church duties. It is incredibly sad to me that she has lost her husband and very best friend, and I pray for her and the family that God will be with them during the grief process.
Thank you Doug, for being such a good role model as a Christian man. I hope to see you again one day.
