Doris Ott Ryan Dalton, 93, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at her home. She was born June 16, 1927 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late J. Peter and Blanche (Huston) Ott. She was a member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 35 years. Doris was a graduate of Morgantown High School and retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education as a bus and teacher aide. She was formerly a 4-H leader and cub scout den mother. She is survived by her husband, Francis Dalton; children, Patrick L. Ryan, Jr. and his wife Sandra, Joyce Fizer and her husband Randall, and Terry Bailes and her husband Steve; grandchildren, Christopher Fizer, Brian Fizer, Scott Ryan, Heather Baker, and Stephanie Brown; and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick L. Ryan and brother, Jack Ott. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, September 23rd from 5-7 PM. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date with interment at Lawnwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Spruce St. United Methodist Church, 386 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505.
