Obituary of Ronald Lee Huffman

Ronald Lee Huffman, 58, of Bridgeport, passed away with his wife and soulmate by his side on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at The Madison Center. He was born on April 10, 1962, in Philippi, the son of Eugene Leon and Edna Marie (Channell) Huffman. Ron served eight years in the Army Reserves. He was a truck driver/mechanic by trade. Ron never met a stranger. He would help anyone who needed help never expecting anything in return. He had a deep love for his wife and family. He loved taking care of his home, gardening and helping his neighbors. In addition to his parents, Ron is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Rebecca (Taylor) Huffman; stepchildren, Amanda Farber and husband, Michael, of Morgantown, WV, Jessica Rogers and husband, Billy, of Raeford, NC; step grandchildren, Bryan Michael Zeigler and Wyatt Lane Zeigler of Bruceton Mills, WV, and Kensley Lauren Rogers and Avery Leigh Rogers of Raeford, NC; siblings, Tim Huffman and wife, Debra, of Elkins, WV, Donnie Huffman and wife, Deborah, of Elkins, WV, Mike Huffman and wife, Anna, of Elkins, WV, Jeremy Huffman and wife, Jessica, of Elkins, WV; sister-in-laws Carolyn Taylor of Morgantown, WV, and Roxanne Sterling of Jupiter, FL; brother-in-laws, Junior Taylor and spouse, Viktoriya, of Morgantown, WV, and Dave Clise of Morgantown, WV, along with many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Stacey Channell; paternal grandmother, Wanda Smith; mother-in-law, Evelyn Anderson, sister-in-law, Rosanna Clise; and the loving family dog, Muttley. Ron fought a courageous 25-year battle with heart disease. Many thanks to our family of cardiologists at Mon Health Medical Center formerly known as Mon General Hospital, including Dr. Michael O'Keefe, Dr. John McKnight, Dr. John Lobban and Dr. Paul Alappat who helped us through this long journey. Lastly, a special thanks to the Acuity Unit staff at Mon Health Medical Center and Dr. Singh for their tireless efforts in treating Ron near the end of his battle.
