Richard " Dick" Francis Salisbury Sr., 86, of Morgantown passed away on Monday, October 20, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dick was born in Preston County on March 19, 1934 the son of the late Lawrence Wallace Salisbury and the late Edith Miller Salisbury.
Dick worked at Consol where he was a coal miner for 33 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and gardening in his spare time.
Dick is survived by four sons, Richard Salisbury Jr., and his wife Beverly; Steve Salisbury and his wife Roxie; Timothy Salisbury and his wife Rhonda; Carl Schell and Judy; one daughter, Tammy Warnick all from Morgantown; 17 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren, and one sister Jeanette Cole from Kingwood, WV and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Salisbury; daughter, Cindy Jeffrey; son, Jeffrey Schell; two brothers Wallace and Marvin Salisbury; one sister Marge Templeton; son-in-law, Jeffrey Warnick and one granddaughter Melody Warnick.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Thursday, October 22, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery, Sunset Beach Rd., Morgantown, where a graveside service will be held with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
