Joseph Andrè Quintana, of Morgantown, an extraordinary and deeply adored husband, father, son, brother, and friend, died suddenly from natural causes on Wednesday, October 21 at his home. He was 40. Andre was the son of the late Joseph Matthew Quintana and the late Elizabeth Zavage Quintana.
Andre was the Associate Director of Auxiliary Business Services Systems at West Virginia University. Andrè’s impact on those around him was due to his kindness, his enthusiasm, his empathy, and compassion. He was known for his unmatched energy and love, his genuine laugh, and his authentic sense of humor.
He is a 1999 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and attended Tri-Valley (German Township) middle and elementary schools. He received a bachelor’s degree in multi-disciplinary studies and Master’s degree of Science in Software Engineering from West Virginia University.
Andrè’s greatest joy was being in the outdoors with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joy (Thomas) Quintana, son Joseph Oliver (5) and daughter Luna Elizabeth (2). He also leaves behind a brother, Arjay (Janna) Franczyk of Waipahu, Hawaii, and two sisters, Lurea (Robert) Doody of Sarasota, Florida, and Sundeigh (Chad) Plesko of Surprise, Arizona. Parents-in-law, Craig and Kimberly Thomas of Summersville, and sisters-in-law Jamie Thomas of Summersville, West Virginia, and Jessica (Chris) McClung of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind nieces, Paige and Scout, and nephews Stone, Chase, Hunter, Aengus, Mason, Brennan, River, and Cameron.
Andrè will be deeply missed by his many friends, his family, and his co-workers.
Following a private family service, friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Thursday, October 29th from 4-7 PM. The family appreciates that during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, attending a visitation may not be in your best health interest. If you choose to attend the visiting, please take all precautions recommended by the CDC.
