Obituary of Betty Catherine McMillen

Betty Catherine McMillen, 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on February 25, 1933, in Buckhannon, WV, the daughter of the late Lester and Ruby Smith.
Betty was survived by her children: Linda McDonald, Karen Honeycutt and husband, Samson, Peggy Taylor, Mary Lousie Haas and husband, Roy, Steven McMillen and wife, Heather; daughter-in-law, Melinda McMillen; thirteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Betty served the Lord Jesus Christ for many years and attended Burns Chapel and Nicholson Chapel. She was known as a devoted mother and grandmother and she thoroughly cherished her time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included quilting, embroidering, playing cards with family, and going to yard sales. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
She also had a bonded relationship with her dogs, Layla and Sophie.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence F. "Beanie" McMillen; son, Bob McMillen; son-in-law, Delmas McDonald; brother, Lester Smith, Jr.; and sisters, Juanita Deitz and Wanda Gaston.
Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, Summer School Road, Morgantown, on Sunday, November 15, 2020, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday, November 16, 2020, at 11 a.m., with Chaplain Nathan Goodin officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
Although guests are invited to come visit, it is required, per the Governor and CDC pandemic guidelines, that all visitors wear face masks and practice social distancing.
