I only just found out about Sean's death, and I'm sitting here in my North Carolina home crying, looking at things he had gifted to me decades ago. He was so generous and kind and good, and I love him. What a loss to the world.

Sean was one of the most dedicated, patient, supportive and loving humans I’ve ever met. He had a great sense of humor and was most passionate about helping people, animals, and certainly politics ;). He loved what he did at GRaCE, he freely shared his wisdom, and truly empowered folks to be come better people. We miss him terribly, but take comfort in knowing how he shared his life will continue in a ripple effect to benefit all. My dearest friend, thank you for the gift of the time we had.

I made this into a little graphic to put up, with the words Sean had up on his wall in his room.
Sean was such a GREAT brother to me! He made me feel so immediately accepted into Scott's life as a member of the family.
When we first got to meet in Virginia Beach, Sean came right up to me and bearhugged me calling me SISTER!!!, and later SIS and SISSY! Right off the bat, there was no question I was warmly welcomed as family.
I so very much wish we had gotten to spend more time together and maybe cook together and hang out.
What a travesty, so young. Gone too soon. Way too soon.
ALL my love and the biggest hugs to Mom, Nora, Beth, Kytt, Leslie, Sam, and of course to Scott who I am so lucky to have here with me.
We so very much wish we could be there with you all. Love you all so much.

So happy I was able to find THIS photo that perhaps his family may recognize. To me Sean WAS art. It never even crossed his mind to be anyone other than he was. Such a magical and endearing quality. This photo makes me smile as much as it breaks my heart. Such was our relationship in life. In the end, we had thankfully and rather decidedly tipped the scales toward smiles, which I am so very grateful for. I think we both grew so much from having been a part of each other's lives. I saw this quote today and it made me think of Sean: "Like a seedling, you will grow to fulfill the potential that is inside of you. You will not, however, grow into something other than you innately are." Sean grew into himself so beautifully, and now he will continue to grow and flower in all of those people and animals his words and deeds have touched in this life. The lives he has helped to change for the better ARE his children and they will remind of us him, make us smile... and break our hearts when we have to say goodbye... My love always to Sean and to his family and all those who cared for him.

I never met Sean in person but had wanted to one day. I met him via the computer thru his work as a volunteer at Grace. We would message back and forth. I could tell he was loving, caring, humble, compassionate and and inspiration to so many. I enjoyed our conversations. He was so loving and supportive of me when we lost our son, Seven this March. He had a beautiful spirit. My heart and prayers go out to his family. He left quite a legacy. He was quite talented. He will not be for gotten and will be missed by so many. I am truly sorry for his family and all who loved him. He impacted my life and so many others. May he R.I.P.
