Adrian Michael Mascari, 49, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on December 25, Christmas Day, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatitis. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 26, 1971, to parents Ben Mascari and Maribeth Whyte Assaley. Adrian attended high school in Charleston, WV, and was a student in the first graduating class of Capital High School in 1990. He attended West Virginia University and received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) where he served as Vice President of his class. Adrian spent over thirteen years as a Research Associate for National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and nine years as an Abstractor for oil and gas land service firms. Adrian was an avid sports fan and athlete, playing competitive baseball and soccer throughout his childhood and into adulthood. Most recently, he played in Buckskin, Pro Performance, and Mountaineer United Soccer Club Adult leagues. He was a die-hard fan of WVU sports and Major League Baseball, rooting for the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago Cubs. Adrian enjoyed reading and researching, especially US, political and world history. He also was a fisherman who appreciated the peace and serenity of fishing West Virginia’s rivers. Adrian was a very beautiful and kind soul; caring, loving and generous to all. His friends loved him dearly and considered him a friend for life. But most of all, Adrian loved being a father to his four children – Chanel Burner, Adrian Jr., Isabella, and Sophia. His children were his world and were the number one priority in his life. He enjoyed coaching them in many sports throughout their childhood and was immensely proud of their achievements in sports, academics, and life. Adrian is survived by his children: Chanel, Adrian Jr., Isabella, and Sophia; his former wife and mother of his children, Parween Sultany Mascari; his father, Ben Mascari (Jan) of Concord, NC and mother, Maribeth Assaley of Leesburg, VA; his siblings Valerie Armistead (David), Alex Assaley (Jamie), Kara Assaley (Jared Phillips), and Dominic Mascari (Melissa); paternal grandfather, Anthony (Tony) Mascari; six nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Charles W. Whyte, Sr., and Eleanor V Whyte of Ravenswood, WV, his paternal grandmother, Marguerite “Maggie” Mascari, of North Canton, Ohio, and his step father, Alexander “George”Assaley, of Charleston, WV. Due to COVID-19 health restrictions, a Memorial service will be held at a future date in 2021, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
