Obituary of Betty Jane Sodomick

Betty Jane Sodomick, 94 years old, formally of Morgantown WV, passed away peacefully at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
Betty (Mom, Grandma and Mommer) was born May 31, 1926 in Morgantown, WV. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Walter Sodomick; her Mother, Mabel Rice Menear Graham; Step-Father, Jesse Graham; Father, Charles Menear, Sons; Larry D. Sodomick and David W. Sodomick; sister, Marjorie Ferguson, Great-Granddaughter, Quinn Prince and Step-Grandson, Gary Cozart.
She has joint membership at Bethel United Methodist Church in Mt. Washington, KY and Brookhaven United Methodist Church in Morgantown, WV. She attended Morgantown High School. She was employed at Laidley & Selby, G,C, Murphys and Monongalia County Board of Education. She also helped start the Brookhaven Teenage Club.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Debby J. Sodomick and Becky K. (Steve) Prince of Louisville, KY and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Sodomick of Morgantown, WV. Grandchildren, Michael Sodomick, Laura (Jerry) Painter, Brandon Sodomick, Karen Sodomick, Nicole (Emmett) Blevins, Justin (Sarah) Prince, Ben Prince, Natalia (Tony) Sandlin. Step-Grandchildren, Mike (Theresa) Cozart and Kevin (Charlotte) Cozart. 14-Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. A sister Doris (William) Van Gilder and many nieces and nephews.
She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV on Thursday, April 8th from 4-8 pm and again on Friday, April 9th 10-11am with funeral services following at 11am. with Pastor Janice Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
