Betty Lou (Hess) Hogan, 91, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Acuity Specialty Hospital situated within Mon Health and Medical Center. She was born on December 17, 1929, daughter of the late Clyde, Sr., and Luretta (Lemley) Hess. Betty was a graduate of University High School and had many hobbies such as quilting, crocheting, and canning. She was a member of the Riverside Apostolic Church of Westover and worked throughout the years at both Comuntzis Restaurant and Farmers and Merchants Bank of Morgantown. She was married to her beloved husband, Winton Don Hogan, who passed away in 2016. He was the son of the late Parker L. and Annie Elizabeth Ruckman Hogan of Monterville. Betty is survived by two nieces, Diana Barnett, Linda Digman and companion, Terry Newlon; and two nephews, Kermit Hess and wife, Illa, and their children, Clarence and Shaylena Hess; and nephew, Roy Hess, all of Morgantown, along with several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Hess Junior of Morgantown in 2004. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Friday, April 30, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Bishop Edwin Harper, former pastor of Riverside Apostolic Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mount Morris, PA. Due to COVID-19, all guests are asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask.
