Dr. Puderbaugh will always live in my memories as my favorite professor, teacher and mentor at WVU School of Dentistry. He gave to his students and the dental school unselfishly and inspired us to be the best we could be. He devoted his life to his profession and his dental school. His work lives on in the quality of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry and all the future dentists, like myself, whose lives he touched.

Tears are welling up with each thought, memory, or picture of My Uncle Dave. Where to begin? .. Every family gathering always involved our Uncle Dave and his family for playtime and interesting stories. He was always stressed the importance of our teeth care, and eating healthy and would give us fun samples from the dental office from which he worked. He had such a witty and positive approach to us as kids, and we were blessed to be around him and our cousins, Lisa, Jennifer, Monica, and Davey. Then, as a teenager, I was in a challenging situation, and was invited to stay with them for a few weeks. I have always been grateful for that stay with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Dave. Uncle Dave shared with me a unique perspective that I still use in my life today. We loved and cherished him so much. He was a wonderful father and kind soul, on Earth and I know he is smiling in Heaven... Mary Puderbaugh Kessel

David was a great neighbor to my sister Peggy & Gary McPherson, as a "handy man", sharing his garden vegetables and a supporting neighbor. He will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.

DR. PUDERBAUGH WAS THE DENTIST'S DENTIST. I had the great pleasure of working with him at the WVU School of Dentistry from 1984-1995. I also had the great privilege of having Monica (his daughter) with a six week rotation at our Belington Dental Office in the fall of 2005. Like Dad a great dentist!
Dr. Puderbaugh & I often sat together at the American Academy of General Dentistry Meetings in Charleston, WV and also, met at West Virginian's for Life Banquets held in Morgantown.
He was a friend and colleague who will be greatly missed. H. Darrell Milem,D.D.S.,, Belington Dental Clinic

Margaret, Monica and all the family,
I have attached a photo of a tomato start that Dave gave to my wife Susan, which grew like Jack's Beanstalk! Both David and Susan are avid gardeners. We were at your house at his invitation to pick rhubarb. I will never eat a rhubarb pie again w/o thinking of Dave.
I started working with Dave in 1978 at the SOD and have always felt he was the consummate professional and a real great human being. He shaped so many lives.
Dave accomplished so much for humanity in WV: training dentists, and dental faculty + his tireless community service. He set an example of how a great life should be lived.
Susan and I are so glad to have been touched by him.
