Lucy,
I remember well coming to your house at a young age with my mom; when we opened the back door the crowd inside the house started singing "Paper Doll", with your mom leading the chorus. I had never seen my mom so happy to be around anybody in her life; her cousin Jo Ann was the life of her party as well as one of the closest family members she ever had.
I then remember as an adult meeting you and your mom in Columbus for the Delaney family reunion; after the reunion your mom and I sat in the lounge for hours; we talked about family past and present, we talked about religion, politics, and all other manner of things - I found her to be one of the funniest, most sincere and sensible people I have ever had the pleasure to spend time with.
I now envision the Heavenly receiving line of your Dad, Uncle Johnny and Uncle Ed, Mary Ellen, Danny, Aunt Annie Springer, Aunt Ellen and all the others, breaking out in a chorus of old Mills Brothers tunes, along with their God, welcoming Jo Ann into His Kingdom! Her memory will assuredly always travel lightly in my heart.
Finally, my condolences to you and John, and I wish you and your families God's peace.
