I was sorry to learn of Bob's passing. We worked together on the Board of the West Virginia Botanic Garden (WVBG). His knowledge and expertise about the bid process and evaluating potential contractors was important to the Garden as we were preparing to have utilities installed down to the reservoir basin level.
I will always be grateful that he was there to help with that key project that had to be accomplished before any subsequent development could occur. I appreciated that he carried on his mother's interest in seeing the WVBG become a wonderful asset for the people of this region and beyond.

I met Bob at the Morgantown Art Association gallery years ago where we both volunteered in the gallery on Thursday afternoons, I primarily to paint and Bob to help out. In a short time I discovered that I looked forward to Thursday afternoons as much to socialize with Bob as much as to create art. While I painted we discussed everything, our families, his rental business, philosophy and current events. Although my favorite art style was impressionistic, I came to appreciate and to love Bob's realistic paintings on wood. After I showed some of Bob's art to my wife, she agreed that we needed to own some of his works. Two of his paintings are now prominently displayed on our walls, always drawing approval from many visitors. Coming into the gallery to paint will not be the same for me without Bob to talk to and his new art to admire. I'll miss him.

Bob and I met in Jr. High school and became friends for life sharing many experiences as we grew up. His infectious laugh and broad smile will always remain with me. After graduating from WVU, Bob would come visit Donna and I in Ohio. When we moved to CA in 1984, we lost touch until about a year ago. We reconnected via telephone calls and caught up on each other’s life journeys. There was much love and a feeling of closeness on those calls. I was lucky to rekindle our friendship, and visited with Bobby and Jan last month on our trip back to WV. The best part of my trip. I knew it would be the last time I would see my dear friend. We hugged each other as I left and I told him I loved him. Bobby will always have a place in my heart. He is already missed by many. Love you Bobby.
