Ms Goodwin is one my favorite junior high memories. She was my English teacher, my coach as a cheerleader and a role model. I respected her character and cherished her kindness. She made a difference in my life and, even though I haven’t seen her for years, I’ll miss her. My sincere condolences to her family.

So very sorry to hear this. I well remember all of our good times at Sabraton Jr. High with her as our cheerleading coach! She truly loved “her kids”! My thoughts and prayers are with your family as you go through this difficult time.

Very sad to hear of Janice’s passing. She and I go way back. I knew her in two different ways One, I grew up in Westover and lived in the city for over 40 years and secondly, several years later after graduating from college I started teaching at Suncrest while she was at Sabraton. Our careers mirrored each other starting in the mid-70’s. I watched on as she then went into Admistration and worked at South and then MHS I was assistant at Grafton High from the early 80’s into the early 90’s. I then took a couple of jobs out of State and finally retired after 39 yrs in education. I know she loved kids and loved being in Admistration like I did. When I took a job out of state, I lost track of her. I am very sorry and know her dedication to her profession I know is sorely missed

I did not know Janice personally but I would considered her a very generous lady. She donated lots of her Material from her quilting hobby. Would very much have liked to meet her. I'm sure she will be missed by many People. My deepest condolences to her Family. Renate Yocum Strakal

Lost a good friend this week. I always enjoyed our conversations. She always knew what was happening around our community before most people did. She always seemed to enjoy a good fight, if it meant helping the little guy. Straight shooter, never pulled her punches. No surprises. You knew where she stood on an issue. Everyone needs someone like that in their life. Janice was just that person for me. Rest In Peace Janice Goodwin. You’ll be missed.

I was never her student at MHS but Janice taught me so much growing up. Her advice was always what I needed to hear, even in my stubborn teenage and college years when I didn't always want to admit she was right! I'm a better man from knowing her and the Lord brought home a good one this week!

I’m sad to hear this news of Janice’s passing.
I first met Janice when I was a student teacher at Sabraton School. She was teaching in the middle school- Junior High as it was then called. Our paths crossed for the next 35+years.
Janice was an avid Gabes shopper as I was. We would often see each other there and end up chatting. Usually our conversation would end when it was time to find her shopping buddy, her mom.
When my children attended MHS, Janice was always available to answer my questions or speak words of encouragement to my children. We knew her as a friend. She will be greatly missed.
My sincere condolences to Janice’s family and friends.
