Obituary of Lois Marie John
Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lois Marie John, 85, passed away peacefully at Harmony at White Oaks in Bridgeport, WV on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Lois was born in Reedsville, WV, on September 15, 1936, daughter of the late Wilbur G. and Winona H Strickler. She was dedicated as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of the Morgantown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for decades.
Lois married the love of her life, the late Ernest G. John, and together they raised five children, Deborah M. Koster of Morgantown (deceased), Cynthia L. Freed of Bridgeport, Jennifer L Crisemon of Morgantown, E. David John of Morgantown and Melanie A. Dakon of Grafton, WV. They raised them to be upright citizens and contributors to the communities in which they live. Additionally, they had seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
As a pianist, it was important to Lois that all her children had a musical upbringing. She enjoyed providing bookkeeping services in Fairmont, WV for decades. She earned her realtor license later in life but never had the opportunity to put it to good use. From a young age, Lois spent countless hours volunteering to help others to learn about the hope of God’s Kingdom as expressed in the Bible.
The family will attend a private graveside service but welcome others to join them for a virtual Memorial Service to be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. on Zoom. Ron Barnett, Jr., an elder in the Morgantown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate. Feel free to contact any family member for further details.
The family respectfully requests that dear friends and family make a donation in the name of Lois toward disaster relief worldwide at jw.org or give to your local Hospice, in lieu of sending flowers.
