I worked with John in Buckhannon, WV for Bethlehem mines. Our friendship began one day in 1975 when I got a call from a fellow who wanted to know if I would be interested in working in a coal mine. It was John and we agreed that I’d give it a try. I quickly found out that John was a super guy - kind, considerate, and one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met. We had a lot of fun and he taught me a lot. When I moved 3 years later, we said goodbye. I still miss him.
Belated condolences to all those he left behind.

I worked with John for several years when I was transferred from Maryland to West Virginia. I bought a home in Buckhannon which was only a few years old. Before my wife arrived from MD, I decided to pain all of the inside of the home. John also lived in Buckhannon an would stop by each evening to help me paint. We kept in touch for several years after I was transferred to Charleston WV and then to Eighty Four PA. John was a really nice and intelligent guy. His manner of working with the employees made John a favorite among the workers, Union and Company alike. I had not heard of John's passing until today when I was looking for the whereabouts of some of my past friends. Please express my sympathy to the family and friends of John.

I graduated high school with John, class of ‘62. Last saw Jack along with other classmates at our 50th reunion. It was great chatting and reminiscing with him.
My condolences to the family.

I served with John on an energy-analysis project at St. Francis de Sales church several years ago and gained great respect for his intelligent and practical approach to problem solving. We often shared our experiences as engineers who worked in the coal mining industry for many years. He was an intelligent, capable and generous "gentleman" and a loss to our community. My condolences to his wife and family.
