Dear Edie, Nicole and family,
Esther and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. I still remembering your husband's/father's/grandfather's week of messages on the crucified life at Grace Church in Middleburg Hts, Ohio when I was in high school. That was not the first time God spoke to me through Doug. In 1994 he spoke at the Africa Alliance World Fellowship gathering in Ouagadougou on the prophet Ezekiel when I was a new missionary, struggling with cultural adaptation. I heard another excellent message a few years later at the International Church in Paris, then enjoyed a delicious Sunday dinner at your lovely home, thank you. Thank you too for your faithful friendship to my parents over the years. Mom still talks about the wonderful Europe tour you led. Wish I could have joined you! I am so grateful for Doug's godly example, humble service, and gifted leadership. How you will miss him. We pray that you will sense the presence of our Good Shepherd as you walk through the valley of the shadow together.
With love,
Andrew Schaeffer

It had been our honor to have known Rev. Miller, the greatest man Joe and I had known. He officiated our wedding in 1985. Not only had he been a beloved and our most respected pastor, but he had been a close friend to us and the Morgantown Chinese C&MA Church. We appreciated his counsel, biblical teaching, and faithful service to the Lord. He had been a wonderful, godly role model and always provided great encouragement for us to walk in the Words. Even after retirement, he still accepted invitations to preach at the Chinese Church, and help whenever he could and in whatever occasion he was needed. We appreciated having him and Edie in our fellowship during the past many years. No words could express our love and respect for him. The Chinese congregation will miss him and so will the Mei family! We rejoice that he is home now with our Heavenly Father, and await the day of our reunion. Thank you, the Lord’s faithful servant!

Pastor Miller was a pillar in the life of our family. He presided over our marriage, lead us to the saving knowledge of Jesus through his preaching and baptized us. Our son, Doug, was named in his honor. The years we were in medical school at WVU, he ministered lovingly to many students, and would come night or day to comfort dying patients that we often encountered. His crowns are many and his rewards are now received, face to face with Christ our Lord. We pray for the Lord’s comfort and peace to sustain the family. Dr. Ronald and Karen Mayfield
