Lonnie P. Wilhelm Hofer, 69, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1952 in Morgantown, a son of Viola Faye (Lowe) Hofer and the late Ralph Adolph Hofer. Lonnie was a Master Carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a hard worker and talented at his craft. He helped to build the first Habitat for Humanity Home in Monongalia County and his beautiful work is found in many homes in the area. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with friends, boating and being on his wave runner on Cheat Lake. Sailing and living on his own boat in St. Thomas was a lifelong dream he was finally able to realize. Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Fran Jones and her husband Mitch, and son Adam Hofer and his wife Lexie; grandchildren, Gibson, Claire, Molly, Xavier, Van and Zane; and sister, Shelia Voorhees. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ralph August Hofer. In keeping with his wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
