Obituary of Robert Edward Baron Westwood

Robert Edward Baron Westwood, 32, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, in Morgantown, WV while home visiting his family for the Holiday. Robbie was born on May 8, 1989, in Morgantown, WV to Robert Thomas Westwood and Brenda Sue (Munson) Westwood. Robbie grew up in Morgantown with his family and graduated from Morgantown High School in 2007. Robbie played many sports throughout his childhood including hockey, baseball, basketball, and football. He played football for Morgantown High School and was a part of the 2004 and 2005 state championship teams, and as a senior in 2006 was named first-team all NCAC as an outside linebacker. After high school, Robbie attended Shepherd University for a brief while and then pursued other opportunities within the construction industry, including working for his father at Westwood General Contracting. In 2018, Robbie moved to the Florida panhandle and has been living there for the last 3 ½ years. He took great pride and loved his work as a Construction Project Manager with Regency DRT out of Pensacola, FL. He had found a place and a life that he loved and was living out dreams that he had always talked about. Robbie loved God, his family, his many friends, football, and fishing. From the day he was born, he had a larger-than-life personality. If he was in a room, his presence was known. He never met a stranger and made people feel like they were the most important people in the world to him, because they were. He was everyone’s brother and best friend and would be there in a heartbeat if someone needed him. Robbie was so loved and will be deeply missed by his mother, Brenda Westwood; sisters, Becky Bodkin (Brad), Amy Harp (Chris); his very special nieces and nephew, Aubree Bodkin, and Adaline and Willie Harp; and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was reunited in Heaven with his father, Robert Thomas Westwood. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Saturday, December 4 from 3 - 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place, Two Waterfront Place, Morgantown at 1 p.m., on Sunday, December 5, 2021. A brief graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Grafton Road, where parking is very limited. A celebration of life will follow the funeral services at Morgantown Marriott and will be open for friends and family.
