Wally and I met in gym 3 as freshmen at Lane. I thought he was a coach due to his advanced hair style. We had my most memorable New Years Eve 1960, our senior year. Went to a house party that went sideways. We ended up at the Black Angus on North Avenue. After we went to Lou’s house, where her family was laying cards and waited for mass. Neither Wally or I was Catholic, he told me to do what he did. Saw him and Lou several times over the years. God bless you Wally a real stand up guy.

I delivered Mr. and Mrs. Haase mail when they moved to the Cobblestone development here in Medina. Such nice people. Mr. Haase would often come to the mailbox when I delivered and we would chat about this and that and he always had a smile to share :) My deepest condolances to the family, may God's loving peace surround you during this sad time.

Wally and I lived two doors away from each other on Armitage ave. in Chicago. We went to Mulligan grade school and Lane tech. highschool. We had experieces growing up that are too many to mention. When Wally met Louise it wasn't long before they got married and I stood up to their wedding. A few years later Judy and I got married and Wally stood up to our wedding. Later they moved out east. We were invited to their 50th wedding anniversary by Tammy. It was a wonderful celebration and we enjoyed being part of it. We shared some of the many memories of years past. Wally was a good husband/father/grand father and friend. He will be missed but the memories will live on. Our condolences to the Haase family. Sincerely.Jack and Judy Maitland

Wally, you are our Brother in Christ and we will pray for you and your family. However, we rest knowing you are with our Lord and reunited with Lu. Not goodbye but until we see you again.
Love, Your Brothers in Christ!
