Gary Ray Smith, 77, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1945, in Cuzzart, WV, son of the late Ray Aldren and Ellen Lucille (Sisler) Smith.
Gary loved working outdoors including golfing, gardening and maintaining his yard. He was known as a dedicated and loving family man and was also known as a hard worker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Connie (Guthrie) Smith; daughter, Tammy Wittman and husband, Richard, of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Joey Wittman of Richmond, VA and Raellen Wittman of Hubert, NC; siblings, James Smith and wife Kay of Morgantown, Stanley Smith and wife, Carolyn, of Lynchburg, VA; and Connie Kyle and husband Rick of Cuzzart; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded by his son, Gary Michael Smith.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 4 – 7 p.m. and on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Hastings Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Parnell Cemetery in Bruceton Mills.
