Your Mom was my Sunday School teacher 60 years ago. She watched and prayed as I grew up. A few years ago, she came to Ice Mt. with a group from Lost River. I was the tour guide. As she was getting off the bus, we saw each other. We are hugging, screaming, and jumping up and down. At this point, the leader came over and asked if we knew each other. We both said no.
Betty Truman helped build my family through her work at the West Virginia Employment Service and the Veteran's Task Force. I am just one of many Veterans and other West Virginian's she helped get thru tough times in our lives. She used her talents to be a wise servant leader and improved the lives of countless men and women with a hand-up, that never felt like a hand out. Proverbs 31:28
My Mom had such respect for Veterans and served so many with vim and vigor. Thanks so much for sharing this memory, it helps, and thank you for your service!
Betty Truman personally was a neighbor whose life in our special Suncrest community certainly inspired a very caring outreach among all our residents and an ascribed will to achieve cultivated beauty in our home gardens. Thanks. Ed S.
