Darrell attended Morgantown High School and entered the United States Navy in 1959. He worked for the Morgantown Glass Factory for many years and later managed several various businesses. He attended Crescent Hills Chapel Church in Morgantown, where he made many cherished friends. Darrell is survived by two children, Mark Wilt and his wife Septembre of Salem, WV and Jeffery Wilt and his wife Michelle, of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was preceded in death by their mother Nancy Susan (Gross) Wilt; along with two brothers and their wives: Ronald and Violet Wilt; and John, "Bud" and Patricia Wilt. Nicky was kind enough to stay by his side until his passing and ensured he was given a respectful veteran's goodbye. A special thank you is also extended to Dr. Robert Beto, Darrell's nephew-in-law, who guided his care and provided companionship.
