Deepest sympathy, Charlie, to you and your family. I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. While I did not have the privilege to know her, personally, my work at Mental Health America (national office) deepens my appreciation for her local efforts at MHA Affiliate(s). Charlie, Lisa, Charlie, Warren and family -- Sylvia was the kindest, sweetest, most loving person I have ever known. We met at Chestnut Ridge and became lifetime buddies sharing both good and bad times. She and my mother were able to meet and also become friends which meant the world to me. My thoughts are with you Charlie and family. So many memories of Sylvia. Perhaps the best was when I returned to Morgantown for a visit after more than 15 years and knocked on your door unannounced. Despite the fact that he was four feet taller than he was the last time she saw him she immediately recognized Joe and ran to hug him. She turned to Joe's soon to be fiancee and treated her like family, inviting all of us to her kitchen table for cookies. You were truly blessed to have her as a wife, and we were blessed to have known her.

I am so sorry for your loss. At the same time, I want to thank you for the time I had with Sylvia.
She meant the world to me. She took me under her wing when I worked at Chestnut Ridge Hospital.
She became my special friend and then made me feel as if I was a part of her family. I will miss our
Saturday's at Panera, our "mental health day". Many thanks again to the family for sharing her with me
and making me part of your family. I know Sylvia's legacy will always live on through her wonder family.

Sylvia was the kindest woman one could ever be privileged enough to know. She was responsible for inviting my mother to the Prayer Meeting that started at St. Theresa's in Morgantown and then at St. Elizabeth's. That began a faith walk for my mother that last decades. Sylvia touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.
