Obituary of Edith Geraldine Burns

Edith Geraldine Burns, 89, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 28, 1933, daughter of the late Henry and Zella Murray Nicholson. Edith is survived by children Don Alan Burns and wife, Kathy, Debbie Rosier and husband, Scott; grandchildren: Andrew Burns, Annamarie Burns, Charlie Uphold and wife, Chelsea Rushford, Justin Rosier; great grandchildren: Lillian Burns, Andrew Burns, II, Brandon Burns, Dakota Burns, Junuh Hunt, Briar Hunt, Jackson Hunt, D’Anthony Hriblan, and Carson Uphold; and siblings, Maxine Hall and Marlene Burns. In addition to her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald Burns; siblings: Oscar Nicholson, Willard Nicholson, Kenneth Nicholson, Warren Nicholson (infant), Mildred McMillen, Opal Murray, Mary Murray Esther Carpenter and Dana Nicholson; and granddaughter, Courtney Rosier. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Lt. Sheldon Greenland officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
