I had the honor of knowing and being a great friend of Jeff’s for almost 30 years. He had a great and interesting sense of humor, and I loved it. He would do anything to help anyone and did just that. He loved facts and trivia and I would try to “stump” him but was not very successful at it. He had a love for music, sports, and family. We worked together in North Carolina for many years. We would get together every Sunday at Golden Coral restaurant for the breakfast buffet before one or both of us would go to work and it was always a great start to the week. One time when his mother came to visit him, he had to work so I took his mother out for dinner. Jeff always loved joking with me about dating his mother. I eventually moved away for a new opportunity and Jeff moved back to Morgantown. Jeff and I would talk often over the years after to discuss the excitement and triumphs of our lives. He was always someone who would listen and provide his own humor and comfort on every call. I always admired the relationship that Jeff and his mother had for each other and as Jeff’s health deteriorated the two of them were able to be a team and take care of each other. I applaud Jeff’s mom Mabel for the unconditional love, friendship and support she gave to Jeff for his entire life. Jeff: I know you are in a better place and can’t wait to see you again. It will be great to “catch up”.
A kind, dear and wonderful friend.

Jeff was one of the best friends I had. We could talk for hours about music, sports, life anything. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he was just nice to be around. His love and devotion to his Mother was admirable. I am heartbroken to learn of his passing. My condolences to his family. Rest In Peace my Friend.

We will remember Jeff for the loving and caring person that he was. Taking care of his mother for several years and coping with his
own health problems. He will be sadly missed by all. We hope to see you again in Heaven.
Your Uncle Bill and Sharon.

I first met Jeff in 1976 or so when he was working at the National Record Mart in downtown Morgantown and coming to my hair salon on Chestnut Ridge Rd for his haircuts. I also recall when he moved to Virginia to become a Mgr. for Roses Dept. Store but would still call me from down there to schedule his Saturday haircuts to correlate with his visits to his sweet mother Mabel. Sometimes he would have her call me and I got to become friends with her through the phone although I would indeed meet her in person later on. Jeff was very loyal to me as my client but even more so as my great friend of over 45 yr.'s. Jeff ended up back here in Morgantown after a time and he resided not far from my one salon where I cut hair .On March 31st 2003 I closed the last of my 4 hair salons in Morgantown & Fairmont after 38 yr.'s but Jeff STILL kept me as his barber and would come to my house for his haircuts as regular as always. Jeff quickly became great friends with my wife Phyllis as he would see her many of the times he was in our home and she was there. Jeff loved my Philly and she sure did love him also. He made her laugh and his dry sense of humor was the best! Jeff was the Mgr. of Rite Aide in Westover and doing very well but became ill and due to complications had to leave his employment. I personally knew some of his clients there who all loved dealing with Jeff at Rite Aide and they all mentioned & enjoyed his great dry sense of humor. Jeff had to face many very serious health issues but through it all he & I became even closer friends if that was even possible. He was doing pretty well for several yr.'s once he got the right care and then out of the blue death came and took him quickly this past Tuesday May 24th and his sweet and loving mother called me around 3:00 pm on Wednesday to tell me about my great great friend Jeff's passing and Philly was standing right beside me listening as this beautiful and wonderful mother was so heartbroken telling me that Jeff would want me to know very quickly. We shall miss you my great and awesome friend and the only solace we can find is that we know that you are in heaven with your Heavenly Father and now reunited with your biological father as well. We can only imagine your happiness and joy there and you will be remembered always. R.I.P. our great friend! Love eternally, Ed & Phyllis.
