Obituary of Louise Price Taft

Louise Price Taft, 88, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side. She was born November 6, 1933, daughter of the late Dr. Paul Holland and Helen (Tapp) Price.
Louise was a longtime member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Star City. She was a graduate of Morgantown High School, attended West Virginia University and later nursing school.
Louise had a wonderful circle of friends, including her Bible Study Group which she enjoyed for over 30 years. She also was a member of the Kappa Book Club, where a small group of friends shared their love of reading.
There are a few lifelong friends, Carolyn Zinn, Donna Jeffries, and Libby Porter that shared much of her life and whose friendship she truly valued.
Louise will be remembered as a wonderful mother, friend, and woman of great faith, and of course her marvelous sense of humor.
Left behind to cherish all the wonderful memories are her son, Robert B. Taft, Jr., (Jenny); her daughter, Holly Scotchel; grandchildren, Robert B. Taft, III, Juliet C. Taft, Nicole K. Scotchel, and John C. Scotchel, III (Ashley); siblings, Joann Albright, and Dr. Paul H. Price (Jeanne).
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert B. Taft; her beloved son, Stuart P. Taft and beloved sister, Helen Colborn.
The family wishes to thank Hospice and caregivers for their kindness and care.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
Friends and family will be received at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3346 University Avenue, Star City on Friday June 10th from 4 PM – 7 PM with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday June 11th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 11 AM with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made in Louise’s memory to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3346 University Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.
