Connie Marie Dalton, 92, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1929, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Russell Harvey and Lillian (Morgan) Costello. Connie was a custodian at Cool Springs and cook at First Ward and Dorsey Schools totaling 39 years. She was known as a hard worker who enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church but attended Mt. View Free Methodist Church her whole adult life. She is survived by her children, Arlie Dalton, Jr., and wife, Karen, Ted Dalton and wife, Debbie, Charlene McMillen and companion, Rick Morris, and Cheryl Murray and her husband, Gilbert; grandchildren who she thoroughly enjoyed, Chad McMillen and wife, Tara, Lori Dalton, Melissa Clifton and husband, John, T. J. Dalton and wife Trista, Adam Dalton and wife, Crystal, Tyler Murray and wife Sara and Dillon Murray and companion Mariesa Dalton and her son Waylon; great grandchildren, Avery and Carson, Allison, Camden and Knox and Hayden, Jase, Alex, Lincoln, Wrangler, Royce and Maverick. Connie is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Pauline Kisner, Sue Varner, Liza Costello, Doris Dalton; and brother-in-law, James Dalton and wife, Judy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arlie Dalton; son-in-law, David McMillen; two sisters, Mary Woody and husband, Lonnie and Violet Holmes and husband, Ronald; one brother, Dale Costello; mother and father-in-law, Gertrude and Mace Dalton, Mace Dalton Jr., Walter and Louise Dalton, Harold and Margaret Hawley; and brother and sisters-in-laws, Richard Kisner, Dean Kisner and husband, Prentise, Sis McMillen and husband, Cecil. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, particularly Emily, Misty, Sara, Amy and Brandy. Another special thanks to Connie’s niece, Mary Lee Hart for her loving caring of Connie. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, June 20th from 5 – 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Mt. View Free Methodist Church, 254 Mountainview Road, Morgantown, on Tuesday, June 21st from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating.
