My deepest condolences to the family. I will always remember Leo as a brilliant, kind man, as a great colleague and friend. I enjoyed interacting with him throughout my entire 20-year stint at WVU. He will be missed deeply.
Leo, I can’t thank you enough for being there through my formative years. Being 12 hours away from home, I always felt a sense of it when I came barreling through your door to do laundry and pet Mamoon. You always encouraged Vida and I to study, and provided the best space to do it. Your dry humor kept us going always. I can’t thank you enough for giving me a sense of normalcy throughout college. Your daughters have your same wit and I’m blessed to know them and have known you.
I have such fond memories with Leo and Mirjana when our kids were small, going trick or treating in South Park, drinking strong coffee on their porch on Wagner, birthday parties, and whatnot. Leo had a sweet smile. I miss seeing him walking downtown, headed home from WVU. They raised two truly wonderful kids any parent would be proud of. Love and hugs to you, Alex and Vida.
