What a special and caring lady. I can still see that lovely smile she always had. I worked with Barbara at Clay Battelle for just a short period of time but so thankful I had the opportunity to cross paths. My condolences to the family and her many friends. I was very saddened to learn that Mrs. Kurcaba had passed. She was one of the finest teacher that worked with me during my 43 years in education. She was a member of a special team dedicated to improving education at Clay Battelle while I was privileged to be Principal. The students always loved her and respected her highly. I send my most sincere condolences to her students, friends, and family.

I met Barb for the first time at one of her many buffets, when my daughter Julie decided to marry her son, Sam - a great son-in-law, by the way. She was so warm and inviting; and had even prepared some diabetic dishes for me! Such thoughtfullness and warmth characterized all our encounters. I cannot express my appreciation for her accepting and loving my daughter as if she were her own! I shall miss you, Barb!

What a wonderful lady… I had her as an algebra teacher at Clay Battelle she had a huge heart for her students always took the time to help and make sure we understood the work. She has a heart of gold!! Such a sweet, kind and caring lady. Heaven gained a wonderful lady she will b missed. My heart goes out to her family.

I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Kurcaba as a math teacher at Clay Battelle High School. She was one of those teachers who actually took the time to make sure her students understood what she was teaching. All of my thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Barbara was smart, energetic and beautiful in many ways. She was my tennis partner in high school and she was great at it too. She encouraged me to excel, and I will never forget her. Rest in peace dear friend. My condolences to the family and to the closest of friends.

Clay Battelle was lucky to have Mrs. Kurcaba for so many years, she was a wonderful teacher and tried so hard to make algebra fun.. she was always ready to help those of us who struggled with math, but she was also down for silly jokes and pranks. Schools really need more teachers like her. She was patient but wouldn't put up with any trouble makers, she was a great listener, and never judged to harshly. But she would give u a kick in the pants when needed. Mrs. K will be truly missed...
