Q: How would you describe Rae to someone who had never met them?
A: Raw. I would describe Rae Ellen as raw, but that might have just been our interactions; she wasn't in the youth too much, I had more interactions therein with Brittany, but the ones we had were pretty authentic. In fact, my first thought was that I need to find my MaryKay before/after photo that I have of her. It was a bit striking since I rarely, if ever, saw her in make-up but it was a beautiful transformation and a good memory that i'm glad to have of her and Jessica LaRosse. I wish she could have seen herself as beautiful as she was. For some reason she thought I was funny but maybe because her quirks and her struggles didn't scare me nor did they distract me from the truth, that she was loved by God and a wonderful mystery. I only wish I could have had a few more conversations and a greater impact. To all of those who loved her, my sincerest condolences and prayer for shalom
