Barbara Jean Tucker Bucy, 89, passed away on November 17, 2022, 13 days shy of her 90th birthday. Barbara was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on November 30, 1932 and graduated from Morgantown High School in 1950. She attended West Virginia University and was an avid supporter of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
As a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Barbara taught Sunday school there for many years and also attended services at the Goshen Baptist Church. As a life-long resident of Morgantown, Barbara had a keen interest in her West Virginia ancestral history and enjoyed sharing anecdotes with everyone she met.
Survivors include her sons: William Earle (Karen) Bucy of Bonita Springs, FL, and Robert Lee (Cindy) Bucy of Morgantown; three grandsons, William Denis (Courtney) Bucy of Houston, TX, Michael Ryan (Ashlie) Bucy of Raleigh, NC, and William Bennett Bucy of Covington, KY, as well as six great grandchildren: Alexandra, Elizabeth, Tucker, Keller, Lochlan, and Cooper.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Earle C. Tucker and Elizabeth Coda Tucker, former husband, William Lee Bucy, as well as her daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Bucy.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
