William "Bill" Drew Romito, 72, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born July 8, 1950, in Morgantown, WV, son of the late Anthony Nicholas and Gloria June (Ringer) Romito. Bill was a very loyal UMWA member of District 31 worked as a longwall operator at Patriot Coal Company at Miracle Run Road. He was known to have never met a stranger and was very fond of his neighbors. His favorite place to gather with his buddies was at Frank's Place in Westover. His favorite hobbies include bowling and fishing. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joan Joyce (Hunt) Romito; daughter, Melissa Lyn Christopher, granddaughter, Paige Dru Christopher; siblings, Dan Romito, Joey Romito, Luann Sauro, Ginger Kinsley and Jim Romito; and his grand dog, Bear, fondly called "Porch Pal". In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Conrad Romito; brother, Mike Romito and infant brother, David Romito. The family wishes to acknowledge JW Ruby Memorial Hospital CV ICU staff for their wonderful care. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
