Though the miles between us were many, I always felt close at heart with you. Your letters were warm and in good humor, always sharing sage advice over the years.
You were not shy in your pride of your Military Service as well as your love for the Lord. So may God welcome you with open arms as he greets you with ''Well done my good and faithful servant".

Steve was my neighbor and a wonderful friend my whole life. He was a vibrant and funny man. We shared many stories of our time in the military. His smile and his friendship will be deeply missed. Rest your oars shipmate, I have the watch.
