Alfred "Al" Leon Liston, 92, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at WV Veterans Nursing Home in Clarksburg. He was born September 29, 1930, in Hudson, WV, son of the late Dorsey and Mildred (Martin) Liston. Al graduated from Kingwood High School in 1950, where he lettered in both football and basketball (team captain). He went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force from 1951-54 and was stationed at the Upper Heyford Airfield, Oxfordshire, England, where he worked with B-29 bombers. He went on to excel in a successful career working both at the Albright Power Station and later as a shift supervisor at the Fort Martin Power Station, where he retired in 1995. Al married Patricia Ann Gilispie on August 2, 1958. Together, they had one loving daughter, Alisa Ann Oliver. He loved WVU football and basketball, playing in golf outings with his nephews Anthony Liston and Larry Snyder, tinkering with his cars, and taking exceptional care of his lawn and shrubbery. Al was known as a kind and gentle soul. During his lengthy stay at the West Virginia Veteran's Nursing Facility, he entertained his caregivers by singing to them. His favorite song to sing was, "You Are My Sunshine". Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Patricia Ann Liston; daughter and son-in-law, Alisa Ann Oliver and Daniel A. Oliver; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nicklaus, Lindsay, Nina, Peach, and Natalie Oliver; sister, Sylvia Gallina; nephews, Anthony Liston and Louis Gallina; nieces Denise Liston and Emily Snyder, as well as several cousins.
