Obituary of Michael Samuel Pinion

Michael Samuel Pinion, 69, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Madison House surrounded by family. Michael was born February 23, 1953, son of the late Samuel Michael and Mary (Necoranec) Pinion of Morgantown, WV. Born and raised in Morgantown, Michael attended St Francis Catholic School where he loved playing Basketball. He graduated in 1971 and went on to earn a degree in Economics from Bethany College where he was president of his fraternity. Michael then spent a few years in Lake Placid training to Luge for the 1980 Winter Olympics. Afterwards, he moved to New York City, it was there that he met his wife and had his first son Sam. Michael and his family moved back to Morgantown where he and Suzanne raised their sons, coached their little league teams, attended sporting and school events at St Francis, and watched their children grow into fine young men. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Pinion; his children: Sam, Max and partner, Katie Snider, Liam, and Dominic; as well as his dear cousin Jane Hutchison and her husband, William. Friends and family will be received at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, February 4th, visitation will begin at 10AM followed by a funeral service at 11AM officiated by Father John DiBacco.
