Obituary of Jamie Brent Welch
Please share a memory of Jamie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jamie Brent Welch (Chub), 50 of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away on January 25, 2023 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Jamie was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Joyce Daft on December 12, 1972.
He enjoyed dirt bikes, playing darts, listening to classic rock, and the great outdoors. Jamie was a man who appreciated life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed the warmth of family and friends' company and being the life of the party. He could fill the room with smiles and laughter from his antics.
He was a skilled handyman, and there was nothing he couldn't fix. He could build anything from dog houses and guitars to designing and building entire rooms for family. Jamie was always available if anyone needed a helping hand. He was a genuine friend in a world where that is rare and precious.
Jamie is survived by his son, Steven Welch, of Jarrell, Texas; his mother, Joyce Daft; his brothers, Scott Welch and Joseph Daft; his sisters, Erica Candella and Cristy Ludazer; his grandchildren, Seth, Aurora, and Draven Ellington; his nephews and nieces: Brittney, Justin, Kayden and Kelsey Lamar, Marshal Dille, Haylee Daft, Remington Wilson, Brenden Candella, Joslynne and Kaylyn Moore.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Donaldeen Welch and his brother, Kevin Daft.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 3p.m. until the time of the service at 6pm with Pastor John S. Crane officiating.
