I have a commitment that prevents me from attending Sandy’s memorial but I wanted to pay tribute to her. I worked at NIOSH with Sandy. She was a bright, competent and productive employee. It was my privilege to work with her during her tenure as Union President. She was objective and reasonable and had the best interests of the employee and the organization at the center of her efforts. Sandy was incredibly creative and she applied that to her home, her garden and her life in general. She faced her health challenges with courage and good humor. Sandy also worked hard to give back to those less fortunate, always rallying behind friends and coworkers facing difficult times and supporting local efforts like Empty Bowls. Barbara Brown
