Dear Linda and family,
It is my great pleasure and honor to share memories of Dewey for his memorial service.
One of my endearing memories of him is when he cried with his full emotion at Vow renewal with Linda on 12/17/2016. I was fortunate to be there as a witness and a pianist to play for the very special occasion, the 50th Anniversary of their marriage!
I admired Dewey as a great family man and a proud veteran. He loved his wife, Linda, his family, and his country.
Linda and Dewey showed me a perfect example of how a married couple should live and love one another.
We miss him greatly. He had the most playful and genuinely contagious smile.
May God be with his soul.
Blessings,
Han and Jocelyn

35 years ago, we moved back from the Baltimore area where we were introduced to Erie Insurance! That was my introduction to a smiling, laughing, curly haired "friend" that others may have called an insurance agent! That started a family friendship that has gone through each of my kids getting counseled on insurance when the bought their own, to employment at Montgomery Ward, to the debacle of switching to a Fairmont office, to switching back, to new my wife being employed as a nurse at Ruby and meeting the perky Nurse Rotruck! Everytime we got another car (and have had many), I was handled personally by Dewey (no matter who else was in the office). It was never a short event as we always ended up talking about family, Rotary, the community and many other topics. In retirement, our friendship moved to FB and our knowledge that the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not belong to one church. He shared things from his and I from mine. When he announced his battle with cancer, Nancy and I immediately added him to our morning and evening prayers. The one thing we have learned is no matter what we pray for, "God's will be done!" In Kay's and Larry's (our first spouses) cases, the Lord needed them with Him, and us to continue His work here! So it is with Dewey. He is preparing a place for his family, as he did while he was here. We all grieve differently, so have patience, and enjoy memories. You will hear his voice, think his thoughts and love each other and Jesus Christ as he does now more than ever!
May God bless you all!

While I only knew Dewey a short time, I’m so glad that I had the privilege of meeting him. He was a very special man, always with a smile on his face. I remember Alex’s graduation where he played with Kate all afternoon. They were so sweet together, tossing the ball back and forth and she would rub his head! I will treasure that memory.
May he rest in peace.
With love,
Tiffany (Julie’s friend & neighbor)

My big brother, playing fox and the geese in the snow and playing in the same field when it was flooded, seeing your smile, hearing your funny jokes, hearing your beautiful voice singing hymns and as we grew up and moved away getting together at mom and daddy’s for birthdays and holidays. I love you and will miss you.

Bud was the first man I ever saw change a diaper.
He was my first example of what I thought a perfect father should be.
He held his babies and loved on them…..always interacting with them as they grew. It always touched me to watch him interact with them,
He was such a good husband to Linda. You could just watch him with her and know how much he cherished her.
Even though we have not seen each other much over the last few years I miss him so much.

My husband Richard and me use to go over and set and talk to Dewey & Linda even had a glass of wine. Dewey always had beautiful Christian music playing on the patio. I remember the day they came back from Dewey dad's funeral. He had Dewey dad's little Dog D.O.G. so sweet but fit right in with their other little dog. Dewey was always getting up on the roof of their RV. Dewey bought a Durango RV and ours was a Durango also. Dewey & Richard compared notes. Dewey was always riding his bike & walked a lot also. Now my husband passed away I hope they are up there singing with the angel's. You all are in my thoughts & prayers. Hugs Linda
