Obituary of Eleanor Madree Rastetter

Eleanor Madree Rastetter, 93, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Jack Edward Rastetter, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Eleanor was born July 7, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late James Koger and Nellie Houpt Koger. She married the love of her life and true soul mate, Jack, on December 24, 1949, and they shared over 70 years of life together until his passing in 2020. They were blessed with one daughter, Patricia Ann (Dan) Hause of Mount Pleasant, SC; two grandchildren, Kyle (Jeannie) Hause and Jacqueline (Matt) Scarafile; and four great-grandchildren Noah Hause, Charlotte Scarafile, Madison Scarafile and Eliza Scarafile. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Koger. Eleanor was deeply committed to serving her community. She was a member of the Valley Hills Garden Club, an avid reader who belonged to many book clubs, a Lifetime member of Auxiliary of Monongalia General Hospital and a past President of the Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her 37 years of volunteer work in the hospital gift shop as a buyer and cashier, and she loved cats. She was actively involved in her church, Suncrest United Methodist. A private service will be held in the Suncrest United Methodist Church Columbarium. Arrangements by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory.
